It looks like you are in an edit war judging from the reverts you have made on Dissociative identity disorder. Take care, because the three-revert rule does not let users make more than three reverts on a single page in a single day. Any user may still be blocked for edit warring and disruption, even if they haven't broken the three-revert rule. When you disagree with another user, you should first try to talk about changes in order to work together to improve Wikipedia and reach consensus. Hello WLU, and welcome to our project. As I already stated on the DID talk page, I cannot comment on the content, only on style:
- The page is generally lacking references, but I guess you already know that.
- Avoid phrasal verbs, where you can; the reason is that the meaning cannot be guessed from the parts.
- We do have articles on things like amnesia; you can use these, where appropriate. See the DID talk page; I linked to some tool which finds "links common in all wikis". This may also be useful in extending the article.
- Correctness a lot of behaviours -> many kinds of behaviour (behaviour looks countable to me); Simple English still means correct English.
In general, use shorter sentences, avoid words with multiple meanings. Other than that writing an article here is like writing an EnWP article. And please don't bite newcomers; try to work out a solution with Tylas... :)--Eptalon (talk) 15:48, 11 September 2012 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what a "phrasal verb" is, could you give me an example of one, and how to correct it?
- None of the three of us are newbies to the wiki model. This is an extension of a long dispute between Tylas, myself and MathewTownsend from en.wiki. If you read the en.wiki DID page, you'll see it gives a heavily-referenced, and very, very different summary of the diagnosis. Mathew's original response to Tylas linking to the SEW article was to remove the link, but talk page contributors suggested metapedianism instead. Unfortunately discussion on en.wiki has been mostly fruitless rhetoric, and it looks like this page might be the same. DR might be the best place to take it. - Phrasal verbs are made of two components, one a verb, the other a preposition; put out (for extinguish) is an example. While they look simple, they do have two fundamental problems:
- The meaning changes rather quickly; many of them have many meanings.
- The meaning cannot be guessed by looking at the components.

- What do you mean? When I signed up for this account, the only changes I made to my preferences was to enable popups and the option that lets you edit just the first (lead) section on the page. Both are in the "gadgets" tab of preferences.
- If you're talking about manual of style stuff, I think that comes with experience. Situations like that I usually just find an experienced contributor and ask them to review/provide suggestions.
