I see the problem[change source]

I can see that you having a problem with the IP'er at this time. Do you need any help? Matt294069 (talk) 00:40, 7 April 2019 (UTC)

The changes I made were accurate and cited, were they not? I won't fight you on enforcing my version, but perhaps we could work together to agree on an updated version?

Quick deletion requests[change source]

Please check history of articles before requesting quick deletion. Sometimes they've been blanked, but have history as on Karachi-Bela Division. Operator873talkconnect 23:58, 18 April 2019 (UTC)

Your QD request on Thermomicrobium carboxidum[change source]

Hi, Zaxxon0. You requested QD on this page with the reason that it was copied from another Wikipedia. However, I can't find any Wikipedia article that it was copied from, so I declined the request. If you can identify where it was copied from, feel free to make the request again (and indicate the source). Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 04:27, 1 May 2019 (UTC)

sysop nomination[change source]

In about the past week that I've emerged from the grave since chenzwbot went offline, I've noticed you being exceptionally active in reverting vandalism with little to no error. I'd like to know if you wanted me to nominate you for sysop in more helpfulness in clean up vandalism. Computer Fizz (talk) 23:32, 3 May 2019 (UTC)

A sysop nomination for me won't really lead to anything as I've been here for only a month. Zaxxon0 (talk) 23:46, 3 May 2019 (UTC)
Alright, but do know I think you're doing very well, and you would definitely make good use of tools :) Computer Fizz (talk) 01:42, 4 May 2019 (UTC)
@Computer Fizz: I agree that @Zaxxon0: would do well as sysop, however he is still very new and editors dont seem to be to inclined to support new users in RfA and it will probably ruin any chances of passing later on. You can do it however you would like, but I do not think that it would go very far. Best--Examknow (lets chat! Paper Plane GIF Animation.gif) 02:06, 4 May 2019 (UTC)

Quick deletion of Fred McLafferty[change source]

Ambox deletion.png

The page you wrote, Fred McLafferty, has been selected for quick deletion. This is because the page is a word for word copy-paste from EnWP with no simplification or correct attribution. This copy paste was to cover over a G2 nomination for QD. Best not to just remove QD nominations but to follow the process. If you think this page should be kept, please add {{wait}} below the line {{QD}} and say why on the talk page. If the page is already gone, but you think this was an error, you can ask for it to be undeleted. You can find more information about the reason here. --Gotanda (talk) 04:46, 5 May 2019 (UTC)

Please don't vandalize the article im greek and just fix some ERRORS

Talk Page Warnings[change source]

Please ensure that you are using the appropriate talk page warning templates on user talk pages which you failed to do on User talk:, where the user reverted his own vandalism edits and you warned them after the fact especially since you used a level two warning when the IP address had no prior warnings. For future reference the appropriate template would be {{subst:uw-selfrevert}}. Thank you. --Examknowtalk 21:26, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

Once again after I have told you, I see you adding a level 4 unsourced content warning template on User talk:Hongkongrun123 after you had just added a level one warning about two hours ago. If you are for sure that an editor is acting in bad faith you should use a level three template unless there is a case of extreme vandalism or else it could discourage new users. Also, I see that you are currently CheckUser blocked on enwiki for sock puppetry so you could be blocked without further notice. Thank you. Examknowtalk 00:43, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
Sorry. That was my mistake. You added a level two template and I thought that it was a level 4. You can just disregard that last warning. Best, Examknowtalk 00:46, 17 May 2019 (UTC).
Not sure why using wrong user warning templates are a big deal. I thought different level warning templates depends on whether or not the user is assuming in bad faith or not. Zaxxon0 (talk) 01:23, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
Making sure you use the correct template is a big deal because say if you start off on a level 4 warning which says “if you do xyz again you will be blocked from editing” then you might discourage a good faith editor which we definitely do not want. Additionally, (as stated in WP:AGF) we always want to assume good faith, especially when dealing with new users. That said you don’t want to completely ignore the fact that a user is acting in bad faith when they are really not. A good rule of thumb is to assume good faith unless you have hard evidence that it is bad faith. Happy editing! --Examknowtalk 02:02, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

Nomination for deletion[change source]

I see that you have marked Angel of Death for QD on account of it is a "Poor candidate for redirect". Could you please explain this to me? --Examknowtalk 22:09, 21 May 2019 (UTC)

The Angel of Death can mean many things, and I didn't think it should redirect to that particular article. It needs a disambiguation page. Zaxxon0 (talk) 22:16, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
I agree but I think that it should be a request for deletion where a discussion can be held. Don’t you agree? --Examknowtalk 22:17, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
It could be converted into a disamb page right now without discussion, there are many pages that link to it on enwiki. Zaxxon0 (talk) 22:23, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
That is another good option. However quick deletion is not the appropriate action in this case and I have removed the QD template. If you have any further comments please do say them. Thank you. Examknowtalk 22:32, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
Also just curious, why did you revert my edit on Raiders of the Lost Ark? --Examknowtalk 23:10, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
I restored the last good revision before an IP made test edits on the page. Zaxxon0 (talk) 23:21, 21 May 2019 (UTC)
Okay but also remember to use “infobox movie” instead of “infobox film” as you did not do on that page. Examknowtalk 23:29, 21 May 2019 (UTC)

Quick Deletion[change source]

Hi. I am letting you know that I removed your QD template on Tarō Asō. If you think that Taro Aso should be moved to match enwiki, then you need to take that up on the article’s talk page. I think that you really need to be more careful with QD tags as I have had to remind you about this multiple times now. Thank you. Examknowtalk 23:22, 22 May 2019 (UTC)

I tagged the QD under the critera G6 because it could be used in order to merge histories in articles. Wikipedia:Deletion_policy#G6 "Pages that do not need discussion to be deleted, for example if the page needs to be deleted to merge histories." I thought it was a valid QD that don't need discussion because the title is his common name and is the same for many other wikis as well... and I thought admins can only remove QD templates. Zaxxon0 (talk) 23:32, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
I am able to remove that QD template because I did not create the article or edit it in any way prior and I had a good reason. Could you please explain what history there is to merge history to me? Examknowtalk 23:36, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
Merging histories could mean moving a page into a different title, while bringing its page history with it. I could not move the page myself so I QDed the page. Zaxxon0 (talk) 23:42, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
Still. My point is that it is not grounds for a QD. Examknowtalk 23:47, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
Maybe an RFD would do? Because the only way to move a page is to delete it. Wikipedia:Merging_and_moving_pages#How to rename a page may be of interest. Zaxxon0 (talk) 23:51, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
That is a better idea. Also I know it might seem like I am trying to mess with you specifically but I am just trying to make sure that you do not make mistakes like that. Examknowtalk 23:54, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
I know you weren't, I was only confused on how page moving worked. Zaxxon0 (talk) 23:59, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
Pinging @Auntof6 because I would like administrator input on this. I think that it needs to be an RfD rather than a QD but I need another opinion. Examknowtalk 00:17, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

Making a request at the admins' noticeboard explaining exactly what move or merge you have in mind might be the best way to go. The admin can decide whether deletion is necessary first. Another admin will need to handle it, though: I will be on at least partial wikibreak because I just had eye surgery and it's hard to read computer screens right now. --Auntof6 (talk) 00:41, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

@Auntof6: Thank you for your input. I hope your eyes feel better soon. Examknowtalk 00:47, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

It is reasonable to request an existing redirect be quickly deleted if you intend to move the page to that redirect. An RfD to move a page is unnecessary, imo. Conducting discussion on the talk page (as it's contested) is definitey better than doing so in an RfD. Vermont (talk) 11:13, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

For technical move requests just ask an admin to move the page. has a board for moves like this but we have so few that you just need to ask an admin and they will do it. We have an option on our move page that says delete destination page for these sorts of moves. Neither Rfd or QD is needed (although technically its G6 the admins use to do the deletion). -DJSasso (talk) 11:21, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

@Djsasso: will do. Thanks. Examknowtalk 22:09, 23 May 2019 (UTC)

G4 deletions[change source]

G4 only applies if the content was deleted in an RfD, not previous QDs. Thanks, Vermont (talk) 10:04, 27 May 2019 (UTC)

Does G4 apply to articles already deleted from AfD on enwiki? The same author decided to dump their article here which could be a common scenario. Zaxxon0 (talk) 23:35, 27 May 2019 (UTC)
No, but xwiki spam can be deleted G11 like any other spam. Vermont (talk) 23:59, 27 May 2019 (UTC)

Looks like someone is removing and changing a lot of text on Old Testament. I made the mistake of removing only part of their edits. Can you help? Thanks. Ottawahitech (talk) 19:31, 7 June 2019 (UTC)

Template:Locked global account[change source]

It says English, not Simple English. (talk) 02:29, 13 June 2019 (UTC)

Although it turned out the above IP is a troll, their change to that page was not a bad one. I was considering making a block for edit warring but that would be unnecessary. In the future, please conduct content disputes on talk pages, not in undo edit summaries. Thank you, Vermont (talk) 03:07, 13 June 2019 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Requests for deletion/Requests/2019/Somdip Dey[change source]

Did you use a nonstandard way of creating this request? There's something wrong with the request page. For one thing, it has stray characters "Category:" in front of the page name after the heading. --Auntof6 (talk) 00:17, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

Fixed. I used Twinkle to create the RFD and for some reason it malfunctioned. Zaxxon0 (talk) 00:35, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

@Djsasso: Thanks! What had changed? --Auntof6 (talk) 16:52, 21 June 2019 (UTC)
An update to a template got pulled in with a different import. But it was for a related but slightly different template than what uses. Our template maps to another one of theirs which is for listing the links but for categories instead of articles. It is actually a good example of why I try to standardize the naming of our templates to match except where it is a case of simplification. ie something like Template:Movies and Template:Films. As of now I just reverted the change. But I might think about renaming and adjusting twinkle to match, but that is a bigger job than I wanted to tackle this morning. -DJSasso (talk) 17:21, 21 June 2019 (UTC)

Oh, I see! Ok, I'll keep them! :) TomSmithNP (talk) 14:20, 1 July 2019 (UTC)

A question[change source]

Why did you revert my edit? I was leaving a vandalism warning, just as you did. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 09:51, 2 July 2019 (UTC)

They cleared their talk page after they were given a final warning which wasn't allowed. I reverted to the last good state. Zaxxon0 (talk) 09:53, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
But when you did that, you also got rid of the warning that I left and the one that Auntof6 left. I understand going back to a time when the page had a final warning, but I think that if other warnings were left after that, you shouldn't get rid of those. BlackcurrantTea (talk) 10:08, 2 July 2019 (UTC)

Why did you revert my edit?[change source]

Please provide a full and complete explanation in the space below, for why you removed my contribution. Thanks. Lolatmork (talk) 10:14, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

The edit you made seem to defame Robin Williams, and was unsourced so it was reverted. You should provide a source next time. Zaxxon0 (talk) 10:24, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Duplicate templates[change source]

Careful about redirecting templates that appear to be duplicates. They don't always match up with the code on the articles using them as was the case with the NBA team one you redirected and probably the reason it was never redirected. If you are going to redirect, make sure you fix the infoboxes on the pages as well. -DJSasso (talk) 10:24, 16 July 2019 (UTC)

The Reverend William Thornton (1830-1916)[change source]

You requested QD on this page for being a copyvio. However, you don't indicate what it's copied from, and I can't find anything. I'm going to decline the QD because of that, but feel free to renominate if you can indicate the source. Thanks. --Auntof6 (talk) 04:26, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

It looks like a copyvio to me. If you look at the source of that page (change source), it definitely looks like a copy and paste (probably from a pdf file). Zaxxon0 (talk) 04:34, 27 July 2019 (UTC)
The QD option is more specific than that. It doesn't say "pages that look like they were copied", so QD can't be used for this. However, you can take it to RFD. --Auntof6 (talk) 04:52, 27 July 2019 (UTC)

Jesus is spelled Juses?[change source]

I corrected the spelling of Jesus. You reverted it to Juses. Can you explain? — Preceding unsigned comment added by (talkcontribs)

This was an inappropriate revert that is not within the scope of rollback. Even if worshiping was an incorrect spelling, which it isn't, rollback was used improperly as rollbacking simply changed what words you believed were spelled incorrectly. It would have been better to simply change the spelling without rollbacking it first. Regardless, I've undone your edits to that page as they were incorrect. Please be more careful in the future, especially with rollback. Vermont (talk) 03:17, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

@Vermont: I admit that was a stupid mistake on my part, but your revert actually changed back to the vandalized state I tried to fix. Someone had randomly changed "Jesus" into "Juses", which isn't even a real word. Zaxxon0 (talk) 04:41, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
Well, this is quite problematic. You can see in the edit summary of my revert that I tried to revert to this edit, however they had missed out on two of the issues. Fixed now. Vermont (talk) 11:59, 30 September 2019 (UTC)

Edit warring[change source]

Please don't edit war, even with vandals. That was unnecessary. Thanks, Vermont (talk) 22:05, 7 October 2019 (UTC)

To expand, it's better to just report to administrators and wait for them to be blocked, both due to what just happened (so many reverts!) and WP:DENY. Best, Vermont (talk) 22:21, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
Sorry for any inconvenience it had caused. It was very inappropriate that I didn't want it there for so long. Zaxxon0 (talk) 22:23, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
Yes, thank you for helping out with it, but in the future it isn't necessary to edit war with LTA's if they keep doing that. Obviously, revert them, but if it keeps going you might as well stop and wait for an admin to block them. Vermont (talk) 23:51, 7 October 2019 (UTC)
