Valparaiso University is a private university in Valparaiso, Indiana. The university has about 4,061 students. It was founded in 1859. The current president of the university is Mark A. Heckler.

Sports[change | change source]

The athletics teams of the university are called the Crusaders. They have 19 varsity teams, 15 of which compete in the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC). The other four teams play sports that the MVC does not sponsor, and compete in other leagues. The football team plays in the Pioneer Football League; the men's swimming and tennis teams play in The Summit League; and the women's bowling team is a member of the Southland Bowling League.
