Victor Veselago

Victor Georgievich Veselago (13 June 1929 – 15 September 2018)[1] was a Russian physicist. In 1967, he was the first to publish a theoretical analysis of materials with negative permittivity, ε, and permeability μ.[2] He published his work in a paper entitled "The Electrodynamics of Substances with Simultaneously Negative Values of ε and μ".[2]

In 2009, Victor Vesalgo won the C.E.K. Mees Medal from the Optical Society of America (OSA).[3]
