A video game composer is a person who writes music for a video games. For example Kōji Kondō, who created several songs for games made by Nintendo, and Austin Wintory, who made music for Journey, are video game composers. The job of a video game composer is to create music that suits the game well. Because there are more mobile games and indie games in recent years, there have been more jobs for people who make music for video games.

Video game composers are important because they affect the way the game feels to the player. The music in a game can bring a feeling to the environment within the game.
