Polyethylene is the simplest vinyl polymer.

A vinyl polymer (also called a polyolefin) is a type of polymer used to make plastic. Vinyl polymers are the most common plastics in the world: polyethylene, polypropylene, polyvinyl chloride, and polystyrene account for more than 60% of world plastic production.[1]
