First generation (2002−2010)

The Volkswagen Touareg is an SUV produced by Volkswagen since 2002. It entered its second generation in 2010.[1]

The car is produced at the Volkswagen plant in Bratislava (as of 2025).

The Touareg is available with 6-, 8- and 12-cylinder petrol engines and 5-, 6- and 10-cylinder diesel engines.

Earlier the car was produced in Kaluga. Touareg became the third SUV in the history of the brand after Volkswagen Tour 82 (Kübelwagen) and Volkswagen Iltis.
