usurp request

I'd like to usurp the username User:Martijn Hoekstra. Someone has been impersonating my en.wiki username. I'd like to usurpp it for unified login. confirmation 213.132.174.10 (talk) 09:37, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please register a temporary username here first, before we can upsurp you. IP Addresses can not be upsurped. --  Da Punk '95  talk  21:18, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Given the current state of the SUL system and the problems it is causing with usurps, a registed name is just one more problem we do not need. If someone else is in this situation, do not register a new name. Contact a bureacrat and provide confirmation of the request on your main userpage/talkpage on your main wiki. We can rename impostor accounts that are on SUL names, but we cannot rename any account to a SUL name. (This request has been previously handled). -- Creol(talk) 22:25, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Simple11

Um, Simple11 (i think) has threatened us saying he won't leave. He said on User talk:Aaasimple11q " im waiting the time you waste will just make you suffer more there are countless proxies i can use so give me what i want and then this can end". I have requested Checkuser, but should we deal with this? --  Da Punk '95  talk  20:19, 3 April 2008 (UTC) [reply]

Sorry, Simple11 didn't control that user. Please ignore this thread. --  Da Punk '95  talk  21:21, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Admins

Shouldn't we have more admins? Right now there is a QD request open (Ron vincent sulit mahinay) and no admins around. What if some vandal strikes? SwirlBoy39 03:43, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

But still, that was open a while and what if a vandal does strike? SwirlBoy39 03:53, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Quick delete does not mean instantaneous deletion. It just means that the page does not need to wait for the seven day RfD period. The really is little need for most pages to instantly get deleted unless dealing with attack pages. Generally a page can sit there for a couple hours and wait until someone checks the category for new entries. Given our percentage of admins (we have a greatly higher percentage of admins to users than most the large wikis) and how often the new changes is being watched, most situations are dealt with in short fashion. On the rare occasion an admin is not available (or not noticeable as (s)he is off editing and has not saved in a while) and large scale vandalism is occurring, contacting getting the attention of a steward at meta or on IRC gets a fast response. -- Creol(talk) 04:24, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've noticed this in the past, and I have no problems with it. The thing about our administrators is that there are times that I've noticed when there are lower chances of an administrator being on based upon the locations of where everyone lives. Mostly, I've noticed, between 5PM and 7 PM Central Standard Time (unless Lights gets on). I believe that the reason for this is because most of the administrators either live in Europe or Asia, or they are tied up in their real life situations, so they are unable to come on. Hope this clears it up, Razorflame 16:18, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Early morning Australia time (GMT +10) theres only normally myself on. --  Da Punk '95  talk  13:28, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And me! I am in Singapore (GMT +8). Chenzw  Talk  10:39, 12 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am pretty sure that it is only me and Lights that are able to be on at around 5-6PM CST (GMT -5). Cheers, Razorflame 20:05, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I might run sooner or later! --  Da Punk '95  talk  22:04, 13 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I am always (mostly unless I'm at college or working) available from ~16:00 - 02:00 UTC, even if I don't appear to be editing. If there's a problem, I'm always on IRC and I check my email regularly should there be a problem. Thanks, Majorly (talk) 20:12, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Barnstar image changes

With Commons recently changing over the images commonly used for barnstars (most notably Barnstar.png -> Original Barnstar.png), User:CommonsDelinker is having a field-day making the changes. This presents two issues. 1: It was flooding the New Changes page. For this, the account has temporarily gotten the Bot flag to handle this job. It normally doesn't generate this many edits and has a tendency to get a little buggy at times (it missed on two pages during this pass that we know of) so it is usually not bot'd but as this is a special case... You may want to randomly check the bot edits or Delinkers contributions every now and then over the next day or two just to keep an eye on it. I'll recheck activity in a couple days to see if it is done and clear the bot flag if it has. #2: (and the main reason this is on AN) as many admin pages are protected at the sysop level, any barnstars listed on these protected pages cannot be updated by the Delinker. Barnstars generated from templates should be fine, but any substituted ones or ones using non-standard images on our userspace pages may need to be looked at to see if they need changed. -- Creol(talk) 05:44, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Minor text change in settings.

In "my settings" → "Gadgets" I have a small and unimportant change that I'm suggesting. Could "let's" become "lets", as that is grammatically correct. Thanks, and sorry for being so nitpicky, Drum guy (talk) 22:53, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Did we...

Did we decide that we wanted to use Template:Pp-semi-vandalism, I don't remember this... Oysterguitarist 23:29, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Not that I know of. This was created by Runningblader quite a while ago. Cheers, Razorflame 13:13, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, I'm just going to put them up for RFD then. Oysterguitarist 14:11, 11 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
