I'd like to have access to the Import tool. I have created hundreds of articles, many of which I import from the standard English Wikipedia. Many of these articles are counties, cities, etc. which follow the same general format and the same general phrasing. I already have ways to simplify much of these, but I think the import tool will make this much easier. I still have dozens of counties for Kansas to create, many cities in Kansas to create, and I could help import similar pages for other states too once I'm done (things like congressional districts, etc.). This tool would be particularly useful for importing many templates which get used in many of the articles. I do much of my editing in a situation where I have a few very short minutes in between tasks I have to do in real life. I'm sure with this tool, I could probably create a new article per break I have instead of a new article every few breaks. ~Junedude433talk 17:24, 28 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Importer rights are only available after a community discussion and appropriate request made on Meta. I am guessing this is for the Transwiki Importer, which can be handled here on wiki. You meet the requirements expect for one, please see Importer and start the appropriate discussion on Simple Talk, along with a specific timeline you are looking at for the use of this right. -- Enfcer (talk) 01:49, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
On hold pending outcome of community discussion. -- Enfcer (talk) 01:49, 11 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Not done Discussion wasn't held and there wasn't a specific set of articles they wanted to bring over. Personally I would have been a bit nervous granting the roll because of the comment about doing it while having short minutes between tasks. Importing articles, shouldn't be done just to bring the article over because doing that doesn't simplify the text. -DJSasso (talk) 02:28, 10 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
