Having shown my swiftness and zeal in rollbacking vandalized pages and building trust over the years despite my hiatus on the wiki due to school-related issues, I have shown that I'm competent enough to serve as a patroller for the wiki. Thank you --DJ ( - ) 01:07, 20 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  •  Not done To be patroller you have to have a history of creating good articles and content creation. I may have missed one but I don't see any content creation in your history. The patroller flag isn't just about vandalism fighting, its about making sure the content itself is good and with the patroller flag your own content would be automatically marked patrolled. Based on your history we wouldn't be able to say that should happen. Patroller is intended for long time editors who do lots of content creation. Feel free to request again a ways into the future when you have build up some article creation. -Djsasso (talk) 15:53, 21 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

35,000+ edits and created 130+ articles. Also have patroller rights at JAWT. I believe this is the right time to apply for here. MathXplore (talk) 05:26, 1 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
 Done Thanks for volunteering.-BRP ever 00:08, 2 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@BRPever: There's no doubt MathXplore is really helpful here, but I noticed a majority of the articles they patrolled shouldn't have been and they last created an article (not including disambiguations, moves and redirects) in February 2021. Disambiguations could count as articles if you wanted them to, but they don't really show editors understand how to create a simple page or categorise correctly etc. because a lot of the time, the disambiguation pages can just be very similar to enwiki with little to no changes needed in copying. Maybe I'm being too harsh here, but I think, at this time, MathXplore should get a little bit more experience patrolling and creating new pages before getting the patroller right. --Ferien (talk) 17:00, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MathXplore: Can you explain when you would or when you wouldn't mark a page as patrolled? And if you patrol a new page that is a bit lackluster, would you take any action to improve it before moving on? Operator873 connect 23:09, 3 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I marked pages that I thought minimal setups has been done (interwiki linking, categorizations, stubify, style etc.). I'm sorry if I was wrong. MathXplore (talk) 04:13, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
┌────────────────┘
@MathXplore:My concern is the state of the page here after you'd patrolled it and even added Categories. It had a section (the based on English Wikipedia part) that shouldn't be on the main article page. Mistakes happen and it's ok to mess up. Heck, I just broke a template (heh >< ), but I would like to know why you marked that page patrolled and left that section on the page. Operator873 connect 04:49, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies, I wasn't sure if I should remove that section. MathXplore (talk) 04:52, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think that's where the concern Ferien has plays in. You do a lot of good work here @MathXplore: and I want you to continue doing a great job. But for now, I'm going to remove the patroller flag until we get you up to speed. By no means is this a disciplinary or a negative action against you. I think you'll soon be ready to request again, but, for now, I'd like you to work with me and other editors to familiarize yourself with patrolling articles and style/content. Please don't be discouraged MathXplore. Operator873 connect 05:03, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have to agree with @Operator873's assessment here. Please take this as an opportunity to learn and don't be discouraged. You are doing good work here and I think you will be fine after a little experience in the area. The key is to only mark those page that you are sure about and skip those that you are uncertain about to others so that someone else can review them. Please work on the concerns @Ferien pointed out. Thanks you :) --BRP ever 05:14, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@MathXplore: If it's of any help, I started this list of things to check when patrolling. I don't think it's necessarily complete, but you're welcome to refer to it. I also welcome suggestions of things to add. -- Auntof6 (talk) 07:17, 4 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I've made some articles since my last patroller request, and I think I've gotten better at editing. Derpdart56 (talk) 18:44, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Derpdart56: Why do you want this right? If you plan to patrol, how would you decide whether to mark a page as patrolled? -- Auntof6 (talk) 19:16, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I would mark a page as patrolled when it looks good enough, and I want this right to help with determining quality. Derpdart56 (talk) 20:40, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Almost nothing has changed since the last request unfortunately, only one new article has been created as well as some redirects and for patroller, we are looking at writing articles instead of redirects. --Ferien (talk) 20:58, 5 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Request 1 last year was declined because the articles you created were all stubs that had issues that had to be corrected by patrollers. Request 2 was declined because you had only created one article and had not shown sufficient experience in article creation. It appears we are once again in the same situation. To quote the patroller policy, we give patroller rights to.. "trusted users who regularly create articles and have demonstrated they are familiar with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines". As has been shown, you are not currently regularly creating articles and the articles you have created do not show that you understand our article policies and guidelines. I strongly encourage you to focus on article creation and not request patroller again till you can show all this. I appreciate all the work you do on the wiki, and this is not meant as a criticism, you just don't meet the standards at this time. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. I have written many articles, deleted many articles, and in general know what an article should look like. I have numerous satisfactory creations, both from research done online and other language translations. I have read the corresponding guidelines, essays and whatnot and I believe that I would be a good and helpful candidate and contributor. A few months ago, Eptalon gave me this permission, saying "edits look unproblematic." He decided to remove the position about a half an hour later, however, for something along the lines of not being experienced enough. I have come back to ask for these permissions now that I believe that I have significantly more experience. Thank you, MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 21:01, 13 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Deferring to others on this one as I wasn't involved in the original discussion and my specialty is not in content creation. That being said, I should note that after a review of your recent creations, I note that you may want to read the attribution policy and ensure that all enWP-based articles have a permanent link, either via TP or in edit summary, to the enWP version that you pulled from. In addition, I've noticed several instances where articles you have created have not been categorised or had red-link categories that had to be replaced by others. Also, lastly, I noticed that Djsasso had to come along and remove short descriptions (which are not supported on this project) from created articles. I don't expect perfection, but patrollers are the people the project trusts to check off articles, and categorisation is the first thing to check on Auntof6's patrol guide. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out. Griff (talk) 06:43, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I will work on the categories and attributions things. I have worked on the short descriptions since, I didn't know the rules and whatnot about that at first but started removing them since. Thank you, though for the critique. MrMeAndMrMeLet's talk 21:14, 15 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not done. There's been lots of great article work but it seems your articles still need patrolling - for example in the article you created just after that comment, you still added a short description (although I get it can be habit just adding it from enwiki), and some copyediting and category work was needed. I'm sure your content creation work will get better the more articles and you've managed the most difficult part - simplifying the content - so as long as these issues have been resolved within a couple of months and you keep on creating good articles, I see no reason why you shouldn't get patroller in the future. Thanks for volunteering and happy editing :) --Ferien (talk) 19:40, 16 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

User:Haoreima[change source]

Hello admins! I want to request you to grant me the patroller user rights. I have been editing Simple English wikipedia for more than one year. I am familiar with the wikipedia policy and guidelines now. I have 17,000 plus edits and 700+ articles created here (most of which are the first creations of Simple English wiki, I mean those we're not there in Regular English Wikipedia before). Simultaneously, I am editing Regular English Wikipedia, Meitei wikipedia as well as Fiji Hindi wikipedia, creating lots of articles. To be honest, in the past, sometimes, I created poorly sourced articles but I have updated and developed them into well sourced articles now. And in some cases, I developed Simple English Wikipedia articles much much better than Regular English Wikipedia articles. One example was Panthoibi (well! I have developed the Regular English equivalent article later too, you can see by checking the edit history of both the articles). Loktak Folklore Museum, one of the articles I created here (first time creation, I mean "not copied" from Regular English Wikipedia), was selected for the Wikipedia translation of the week: 2022-08. It's a matter of pride for simple English Wikipedians because articles from this wiki are rarely selected for the global weekly translation program. Please grant me the patroller user rights so that I could start patrolling edits done by others for a constructive perspective of this wiki! Regards! --Haoreima (talk) 12:44, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done @Haoreima Thank you for your work here and for wanting to help. On this wiki, the patroller right includes autopatrol. Articles created by a user with that right do not have to be patrolled. I looked at some of the articles you created most recently and they do need to be patrolled, at least for grammar. So at this time I will not give you patroller rights, even though your work here is appreciated. -- Auntof6 (talk) 18:18, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

User:PotsdamLamb[change source]

I am requesting the patroller rights, as I once had them, as part of my vandalism fighting, so that I would find them quickly and be able to flag for QD instead of having to monitor the recent changes page or bot channel which transmits all changes. An example I found today was after Eptalon deleted called List of People Who Lick a Flashlight it was recreated again and the only reason I found it is because someone added a name to it so it showed changes to the page but not the creation. I think having this right-back would be very helpful in preventing these types of pages from polluting the wiki. It was removed from me a while back by Auntof6 for abusing my tools and subsequently getting a 6-month block for the all-around behavior I exhibited at the time. Since I have been back, I have been extremely careful in the use of rollback and the comments I leave and have been very helpful to new users before blasting them with warnings. Thank you for you consideration. Please ping me as I do not keep this page on my watch list. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 02:34, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done On this wiki, the patroller right includes auto-patrol, which means that articles you create wouldn't need to be patrolled. You haven't created enough articles recently (none since September last year) to show whether they need patrolling. Please ask again when you have created a number of good articles. -- Auntof6 (talk) 03:07, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6 While it may contain that right as well, I do not normally create articles as I am too busy with vandalism and going through the change logs and fixing all that is wrong with the articles. I do not feel this should be the only factor in the decision as I asked for it so I can get to new pages created by users and get them handled faster as the bot lists every single change made (unless the user is on the white list, like myself). I had also asked for someone to ping me as this is not a page on my watch list. Thank you. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 22:54, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb: I still decline. The fact that you don't normally create articles (or other pages, because it applies to those, too) doesn't mean that you never create them or won't create them in the future. -- Auntof6 (talk) 23:09, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Auntof6 ok thanks PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? 23:11, 2 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I'm an active user over a year, made 1500+ edits and created over 40 articles. I'm aware of rules and procedure of patrolling policies. Hope to receive consent.--DRC (User:TTP1233) (talk . e-mail . contrib) 13:22, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now. While your article work is appreciated, I did have to patrol a few of the articles you had created, and patroller is usually given after many more articles created. Please don't let this discourage you and keep up the good work :) --Ferien (talk) 18:38, 16 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

User:N1TH Music[change source]

I have been a good contributor to this wiki and unlike with Rollbacks, patrolling is something I very often do see here I think I deserve it because I am a trusted editor, I could improve the wiki with this right and I am experienced in this sort of editing. N1TH Music (talk) 17:22, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done You might be good at patrolling pages created by other users. However, on this wiki, the patroller right includes autopatrolled. That means that pages you create wouldn't need to be patrolled. Looking at some of the pages you have created, it looks like they need some work, so I wouldn't want to see them be autopatrolled. If you would like the patroller right, please create more pages (pages that are more than just a couple of sentences) and get some practice at writing in simple language. Thanks for your interest and for helping the wiki! --Auntof6 (talk) 19:55, 14 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

User:DMK-C5[change source]

I would like to apply for patroller flag. I made 25+ articles and I have a well understanding of reverting vandalism (though doesn't apply here).--DMK-C5 (talk) 06:25, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done Here the patroller right includes autopatrolled, which means that articles you created are automatically marked as patrolled. However, I have looked at articles you created and they do need to be patrolled. That is because they contain complex words and complex sentence structure. This is common when you use the content translator. Automatic translators like the content translator almost never produce text that meets the requirements for simple language here. After translating a page, you need to simplify it. Please work on creating articles that use simple language, then you can ask for patroller after you have expertise with that. --Auntof6 (talk) 07:22, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Auntof6, I expect you will be reviewing. Thank you for your review, but please keep a note that I'm highly aware about the issues in content translator. I myself do simplifying a lot. And I will still keep learning about simplification of articles. DMK-C5 (talk) 07:30, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@DMK-C5: What do you expect that I will be reviewing? You might be aware about issues with the content translator, but I can only go by the articles I've seen you create, and they need simplifying. If you like, you can pick one you have simplified, I can look at it to see if it needs more, and, if so, explain why. -- Auntof6 (talk) 07:35, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No sir, I mean, you generally guided me a lot, when I face any edit issues. That's why I expected you will review my request. I'm eagerly happy to get your advice. DMK-C5 (talk) 07:38, 3 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
DMK, I would like to see you in return in a few months once you have more experience with article creation and simplification. Patroller is kept to a limited group of users who can be trusted to provide articles requiring few changes to meet Simple English Wikipedia standards. Thank you for your work on this.
