Windows 2.x is in the family of Microsoft Windows picture-based systems that was better than Windows 1.0. Windows 2.x was said to look almost the same to the first Mac OS and more closely matched Microsoft's pre-release publicity for Windows 1.0.

Five months after Windows 2.03, Microsoft released Windows 2.10 and Windows 2.11 10 months later. They were the first to require an intel processor to run. These are 80286 and 80386.
