Windows XP Media Center Edition (MCE) is an edition of Windows XP. It was released to manufacturing (RTM) on September 3, 2002 and was generally available on October 29, 2002. This edition launched Windows Media Center on Windows XP with new features and a "luna" wallpaper. Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 was released on October 14, 2005 with 2005 Update Rolly 2 similar to Windows XP Media Center Edition 2002. Mainstream support of Windows XP Media Center Edition ended on April 14, 2009 and extended support ended on April 8, 2014, along with Windows XP.

In August 2002, Microsoft introduced the new Windows Media Center for Windows XP, named Windows XP Media Center Edition. Windows XP Media Center Edition was released to manufacturing on September 3, 2002 and released for general availability on October 29, 2002.
