Jamell Maurice Demons (born May 1, 1999), better known as YNW Melly, is an American rapper, singer and songwriter. He was born in Gifford, Florida. He was best known for his songs "Murder on My Mind" and "Mixed Personalities" featuring Kanye West. He released his album, We All Shine, in January 2019.

In February 2019, Demons was charged with two counts of first-degree murder relating to a shooting that took place in October 2018.[2] Jury selection for his trial took place on April 11, 2023.[3] Melly's trial began on June 12, 2023. The judge paused the trial in January 2024.[4] It's expected to resume on March 5.[5]

In April 2020, during the 2019–20 coronavirus pandemic, Demons tested positive for COVID-19 but was denied.[6]
