Yasuki Chiba (千葉泰樹, Chiba Yasuki, June 24, 1910 - September 18, 1985) is a Japanese film director.

Chiba was born in the city of Changchun, Jilin Province during the late Qing Dynasty . After graduating from Kobe Commercial High School in 1928, he joined the Hanzuma Tachibana Universal Union Film as an assistant director. In 1929, Chiba would be latter transferred to the Kawai Movie Negamo Photo Studio and in 1930, directed his first film debut called Aojiroki hitobito. In the early days, he directed many historical films, and after working for Fukoku Film Company and Taiwan Production, Chiba joined Nikkatsu. Around this time, Chiba began to work on many contemporary dramas, and then moved to Nanpo Movies to work on the problematic work Renga jokô, which depicts the interaction between Japanese craftsmen living in slums and Koreans living in Japan.

This work was disapproved by censorship and also caused the dismantling of the Nanpo Movie (the movie was released in 1946 after the end of the war). During World War II, he worked with Daiei Tokyo Studios and became a freelance photographer in 1947, shooting his film "Aru yoru no seppun", which depicts the first kissing scene in the history of Japanese cinema. Next, he directed "Invitation to Happiness" and "Ikiteiru Gazette", starring Denjiro Okochi at Shintoho, and "Nakinureta Ningyo" starring Hibari Misora ​​at Matsutake Kyoto is also called a prototype of a salaryman comedy at Toei Tokyo. Even after retiring as a director in 1969, he has supervised "Jump Out! Youth" and "We Are Youth!". Regarding the solid craftsmanship, producer Sanezumi Fujimoto of Toho, who has often appointed Chiba since the disappearance of the Nanpo movie, has a lot of trust, and Chiba after transferring to Toho is indispensable for Fujimoto's production work, became director after recovering his health.
