"You Can Call Me Al" is a song by Paul Simon. It was the first single from Simon’s seventh studio album, Graceland (1986). It was released on Warner Bros. Records. It was written by Simon. The words are about a person in a midlife crisis. It was partly based on Simon's trip to South Africa and how he saw that country’s culture.
