Zayar Thaw

Phyo Zeya Thaw (Burmese: ဖြိုးဇေယျာသော် [zèjà θɔ̀], also spelled U Phyo Zeya Thaw Thaw or Zeya Thaw; 26 March 1981 – 23 July 2022) was a Burmese politician, activist and hip-hop artist. Phyo Zeya Thaw was arrested by the military dictatorship for his anti-government messages in his song lyrics.[1] Phyo Zeya Thaw was a member of Pyithu Hluttaw from 2012 to 2021. In November 2021 Phyo Zeya Thaw was arrested by the Myanmar military junta and was sentenced to death in January 2022.

On 23 July 2022, Phyo Zeya Thaw and three other democratic activists were executed in Yangon, Myanmar.[2] Phyo Zeya Thaw was 41 years old.
