Zhang Xinshi (Chinese: 张新时; June 30, 1934 – September 24, 2020) was a Chinese plant ecologist. He was the founder of China's vegetation ecology and international information ecology. He created China's first laboratory of quantitative vegetation ecology.
He was a member of the 8th, 9th and 10th Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. In 1991, he became a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Zhang was born in Kaifeng, Henan.
