The letter N, which always comes after the K when the K is silent at the beginning of a word, makes the word knapsack. Knee also begins with the silent K, too. It is used at the beginning of other words, such as kneel, because the K before the N is completely silent. Similarly, the word knife begins with the silent K. Other words beginning with the silent K, such as knight, knit, knot, knowledgeable, and know are very similar. Knuckle is the last one that begins.
