So, User:The Rambling Man randomly ran CheckUser without precedent or reason (a form of fishing, which isn't a legitimate use of CheckUser), or someone else who did the same thing gave him a hint on IRC. There may be something else that I am not considering, but regardless it was a violation of due process. So, how did it happen, TRM? 96.26.213.146 (talk) 10:52, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
- Duck test (you were clearly a user who knew what he was up to at the RFChu with comments supporting PBP) followed by a legitimate, completely not random, with reason checkuser. I don't use IRC. 100% positive hit. Job done. No "violation of due process", no further discussion required. The Rambling Man (talk) 10:57, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
- "...a legitimate, completely not random, with reason..."
Does that mean that you had suspected that User:Jonas D. Rand specifically was editing behind this IP? Or did you just think I was a sock of someone, not really knowing who? 96.26.213.146 (talk) 11:03, 29 October 2011 (UTC)
