From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest (which was earlier called Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve) is a New Year's show that was originally hosted by Dick Clark until he had a stroke during 2004 and from December 31, 2005 with Ryan Seacrest until his death in April 18, 2012. It takes place on Times Square December 31 of every year. In December 31, 2004, Regis Philbin hosted the show because of Clark's stroke. The show has been hosted by Ryan Seacrest on New Year's Eve since December 31, 2005 alongside Clark until Clark's death in 2012. Seacrest is the only host of the show after Clark's death.
Show's history [change]
In the December 31, 1999 show, it was called ABC 2000 Today because 2000 would be the brand new year. Peter Jennings hosted that.
