Español: Escudo de Ovalle, Chile: En un campo de oro, una barra ondada, de azur, símbolo del río Limarí, acompañada arriba por un león rampante de púrpura, coronado de oro, con una pluma de oca, blanca, en la mano, en actitud de estar escribiendo, en homenaje al poeta de Chile don Víctor Domingo Silva Endeiza, ilustre hijo de esta región; y abajo por un pico y un combo de gules, formando un sotuer, emblema de la minería. Bordura cosida, de plata, con ocho hojas de higuera, de sinople, que es el árbol heráldico del Norte Verde. Timbre: la corona mural de oro de las Municipalidades de Chile. [1]
