Leopold II, King of the Belgians was King of Belgium from December 10, 1865 to December 17, 1909. He was also Sovereign of the Congo Free State in Africa, a corporate state run for profit, from 1885 until 1908, when the Belgian Parliament forced him to give it up and it became the Belgian Congo.
