The 2016 presidential campaign of Lindsey Graham, the senior United States Senator from South Carolina, and former member of the House of Representatives, was announced on June 1, 2015. Graham sought the Republican nomination for President of the United States in the 2016 election; a close personal friend of Senator John McCain of Arizona, Graham was a top staffer during McCain's 2008 campaign.[2]

After low polling numbers, Graham withdrew from the race on December 21, 2015.[3]
