Nagano (Japanese 長野市) is a city in Japan and the capital of Nagano Prefecture (長野県). Nagano Prefecture is located in the center of Japan and is surrounded on all four sides by 3000-meter tall mountains. This is called the “Roof of Japan”. Nagano’s population is 2,182,190 (as of Oct 1, 2007).
