Paraplegia

Paraplegia is paralysis of the legs and lower half of the body. It happens when the spinal cord is damaged. Sometimes, they are kept alive by a life-support machine. It sometimes happens to people because they get a disease.^[1]

Superior paraplegia is a type of paraplegia where people cannot use their arms and the top of their body.^[2]

A person who has paraplegia is sometimes called a paraplegic.^[1]
