Russian???
[change source]Just wondering, but do ya speak or understand Russian? 'Cuz the first user space you had was Комунизма68К. Also you look latino on you're picture you have. --§ Snake311 (T + C) 20:19, 22 July 2007 (UTC)

Dear Ionas
[change source]- Dear Ionas, I just saw your messages at Simple Talk regarding the possibility of going for RfA soon, and I couldn't help but to observe Onancle's offer of nominating you. I'm positive he means the best, and I'm also sure you have nothing but the best interests of our project in mind. However, I'd like you to reconsider the idea of jumping into that process right now. It's highly likely that your request could fail, mostly based on your editing time and editcount, as well as the very big percentage of edits to your own userspace you currently have. There's no hurry, dear - give it a little mroe time, and I'm 100% sure you'll pass easily in the near future. But, having witnessed many people get sad and stressed because their RfA failed, I'd like you to be spared the bad moment. It's just my humble advice, of course, and you're free to do as you wish! ;) Let me know if I can help you in any way, k? Have a beautiful day, Phaedriel - 19:14, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
I shan't nominate Ionas if he asks me to stop. Btw, I don't agree about fail, mostly based on your editing time and editcount because
- Ionas has been starting editing well before Isis
- Ionas is in the top ten of contributors since the four last weeks. ONaNcle 19:50, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Popups
[change source]The problem you had was that the subst:popups is only for use on En:wp where they have the popup template to be substituted. Other wiki's need to manually add the popup link to their monobook.js to get it to work. I went ahead and added the needed link to your .js for you. It should work now. -- Creol(talk) 20:26, 24 July 2007 (UTC)
Adminship
[change source]I would like to be an admin here one day except right now I do not meet the requirments but when I do I will run for adminship :) Oysterguitarist 01:08, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you, dear Ionas! :)
[change source]my dear Ionas! :)
Thank you so much for the beautiful gift, dear Ionas! :) If I'm deserving of a star, then you truly deserve a galaxy for your hard work and your kindness ;) Keep up the excellent work, my friend!
Regarding your thoughtful advice about a Comanche Wikipedia, it's an idea I've considered myself; but you see, unlike Cherokee, or Navajo, there are few speakers of Comanche; the language is nearly extint, and just a handful of elderly speakers remain. I know many scattered words and phrases, that's all... sad, isn't it? :(
Have a wonderful day, and once again, thank you! :) Love, Phaedriel - 21:25, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
Archival
[change source]Hi. Thank you for archiving my talk page. For some reasons, I prefer to archive talk pages (when feasible) by moving them to the archive address, and not by cutting and pasting the content. See en:Wikipedia:How_to_archive_a_talk_page for the details of the process. The advantages and disadvantages are also described there. - Huji reply 09:02, 27 July 2007 (UTC)
- I understand why you didn't move that. An alternative is to move it, then copy the current discussions back to the talk page again. In this very special case, even that wasn't needed though, since none of the discussions on my talk page where actually ongoing.
- An alternative (which is more suitable for article talk pages) is to refactor the page, about which you can read on English Wikipedia. (No-one has moved its page to Simple EN yet). Thanks anyways, - Huji reply 14:27, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

- Ionas, when I was at your age, I was just as curious as you are now. Some years ago, I really wanted to get involve in web design, and yet I didn't have the skill. Now when I look back, I see what big mistakes I made without knowing what is the correct way to acheive what I wanted in my mind.
- Anyways, I think you don't have much web design skills. I'm sorry if I'm telling this in a little harsh way, but that is true. The very first rules of web design, is to make a text readable for as many people as possible. Your user page, at the moment, contains pieces of text which are not readable in Firefox. It doesn't mean you cannot help with the main page design; yes you can! But you need to develop your skills. Internet is a good source. Read web design tutorials. Read about cross-browser compatability. I wish we can work togeather better then. - Huji reply 18:13, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
- By the way, in case you felt you really want to learn more, I can show you where to start :) - Huji reply 18:16, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

Archiving Simple Talk
[change source]Thanks for archiving simple talk. However, if you had a look into its history, you would have noticed that it was previously archived using the cut and paste method (and not the move method). There are things you should know:
- As described on WP:ARCHIVE, we shouldn't combine the two methods. When a page is archived in one way, we should always do it that way.
- Simple talk was not even near being archived yet. It wasn't that large, and there were many ongoing discussions.
User:Archer7 reverted your archival. Please wait more, and then archive the page using cut and paste method. - Huji reply 18:59, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- Yup :) Thanks for trying to help, but we usually wait until it's a bit bigger. When we use copy and paste it means we can keep the history of the page together. Archer7 - talk 19:02, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
IF command
[change source]Ionas, you corrupt the if command here. I have fixed it (and fixed the rest of the template as well). I though you might be eager to learn about this. So read m:Help:ParserFunctions, the #if section. - Huji reply 19:30, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

[change source]I'm sorry, I've never actually looked at User:Wik's ban before, although I seem to remember that he had a lot of sockpuppets to evade it. That's all I know... Archer7 - talk 16:02, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
Your message to Tdxiang
[change source]Tdxiang has left this wikipedia so I wouldn't expect a response back from him in the near future. I don't know if he's just on a long break or permanantly gone. On a different note, I noticed in your message to Tdxaing you inquired about a permanant block on a user. You've asked other admins, including myself I believe, about other past blocks. In my opinion, and I think I am speaking for a lot of users here, we have a very capable, thoughtful, and trustworthy group of administrators. We check each other constantly and bans of users are not taken lightly. - BrownE34 talk contribs 01:03, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- You can ask all the questions you want, but that does not entitle you to an answer. I have no idea why the person was block and I don't care. I make the assumption that if there was something wrong with the block that it would have been addressed at the time the block was made. The user could have been a sockpuppet, threatening other users, or failing to follow policy and guidelines after being warned. - BrownE34 talk contribs 13:36, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
'Humor'
[change source]Sorry, it seems I have been picking on you lately, but in the humour section of your user page you refer to CNN as the conservative news network, the man, the capitalist news etc. You should understand that FOX News is the conservative channel, and CNN + ABC + PBS tend to be liberal. LIAM !
Main Page
[change source]Ionas! First, you have really improved yourself, as I've found it on Main Page/Test 1. Second, please add an edit summary when you edit the page. What this please. See how I or Tygartl1 add a summary; do it all the time (not on occasions) so we can follow you better. Keep up the good work my friend! - Huji reply 13:49, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
Barnstar
[change source]Congratulations: You have been awarded a Barnstar!
I award you this barnstar for your contributions to SimpleWikipedia, esp. fighting vandalism --Eptalon 12:45, 2 August 2007 (UTC) |
I gave you the barnstar for work you do here. I am not interested in controversies you are involved in elsewhere. Remember, enWP is a very big community. It is easy to get involved in a controversy there. One of the big joys of this WP is that there are no policy-debates yet. --Eptalon 20:56, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
Talk page
[change source]Hello, Ionas. I just wanted to know why you made this diff on User:Barliner's talk page. Unless requested, usually only the user to whom the talk page belongs to adds messages like that. --Isis§(talk) 02:35, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Main Page again
[change source]Hi again! Your edit was reverted. I'd like to make sure you clearly know why it happened. We are waiting untill we have at least 10 very good articles, then to add the selected articles box to the main page. In the mean time, I think you can help a lot by getting involved with creating a finding very good articles. Good luck! - Huji reply 12:21, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Your userpage
[change source]Hello, Ionas. I just wanted to ask if you could possibly make your userpage less...opinionated. Wikipedia:User page is a guideline about userpages. I suggest you read it. I do not think a userpage should be the place where you express your opinion about the government of the United States. Also, as a sidenote, CNN isn't a conservative news network. --Isis§(talk) 14:14, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you. :) And, I'm sorry if it seemed I was trying to invade your rights, but I didn't mean it that way. I was merely asking if you could change it to be less offensive. And, please remember, the laws of the US don't apply everywhere. Wikipedia is a worldwide project, so not everyone is from your country. --Isis§(talk) 19:45, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- Forgive the shortness, I must be brief to get a reply in at all. You don't think calling conservatives "imbeciles" is offensive? There may or may not be American conservatives editing on SEWP. Also, Wikipedia is worldwide, so not everyone lives in America, and, thus, not everyone goes by American laws. Please keep this in mind. --Isis§(talk) 18:55, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ionas, I believe Ryulong was referring to the bright colors you had on it. "Your userpage is an eyesore with the fonts, colors, lack of contrast, etc..." I'm sure you read that. I'm sorry to hear that you have been blocked on enWP. I'm not saying you must, but I think it would be a very good idea, when your block ends, to edit articles instead of acting like a troll. This is an encyclopedia. Please keep that in mind the next time you get in a dispute.

toldasked me to take content off my userpage, she must be trying to take away my first amendment rights". I did mot mean it to seem like that at all. Wikipedia is not the place to advertise your political views, except for maybe in a few userboxes.

- If you were an American conservative and saw "imbecile" in giant letters in a paragraph describing American conservatives, I think you would find that kind of offensive. You had a lot more than "imbecile" written about conservatives, which makes it even more offensive. If there are American conservatives on SEWP, they would surely be offended by that. There was a similar situation with another user a couple months ago.
- Your userpage on enWP was deleted and recreated, so I can't use examples from there. However, Ryulong was referring to the very bright colors, such as the revision hereand the revision here. Your userpages on both wikis were pretty much the same, so the same goes there as here. As I said before, I advise you to stay away from Ryulong and other admins. Your comments to Ryulong, as far as I'm concerned, aren't doing any good. You claim not to be a troll, yet you make troll-like comments. This comes across to me, and many others, as "troll". If it comes to it, just leave WP for a while and come back when you feel you are ready. --Isis§(talk) 14:08, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
"VANDALIZE THIS SITE!!!"
[change source]Do you actually want people to vandalize Conservapedia? Panda Bear 04:35, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
Well, I think that's bad. Panda Bear 02:35, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
I agree with Panda Bear. It is apparent to me that you need to learn how to respect differences of opinion. It is okay for other people to think differently than you. - BrownE34 talk contribs 02:45, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for removing it. Also, I have a question:Did you recieve any e-mails from me? If so, please don't think I sent them. A very close friend of mine was messing around in my account. :) This was a little while back...maybe in June. If you did not, well, that would be very, very good! --Isis§(talk) 22:26, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
A Bit of Advice
[change source]I've noticed you have been blocked over on English wikipedia for trolling and other like behavior. Be advised that behavior is not acceptable here either. Your actions over on English do influence what happens on Simple as well. I further advise you to stop advocating for vandalism on conservapedia. We deal with vandalism on a daily basis here and we do not wish vandalism on anyone, regardless of political views. The whole spirit of wikipedia is to embrace diversity in thought and knowledge. You also need to be careful with your comments to other users regarding your political views. It's one thing to disagree with a political viewpoint but if you start insulting people who have those views, you will be in violation of our civility policy and subject to being banned. I encourage you to focus on improving this project and quit pushing your viewpoint on others. If you are truly 11 years old, then you have a lot to learn in life. I make no effort to hide the fact that I'm a liberal, straight-ticket voting Democrat, but I still have good friends in the world who are conservative Republicans and we have no trouble getting along. Good luck, ride out your block over on English, and come back with a new outlook to become a good contributor over there and right here on Simple. - BrownE34 talk contribs 13:59, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

[change source]I'm not sure if you know this, or if it was intentional. But in your new signature, you have ionas talk contribs. The "ribs" part of "contribs" links to the contributions of whoever clicked on it, but the "cont" part links to yours.
Was it intentional?

Your newest changes are vandalism and this is not acceptable on any Wikipedia. Please stop. If you vandalise more pages, you may be blocked so you cannot edit Wikipedia. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. -barliner--talk--contribs- 18:23, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, Ionas, but I have to agre with User:Barliner. That edit was vandalism. Making constructive edits doesn't excuse your bad edits. The same applies for regular users as for vandalising IP's. Do not think otherwise. --Isis§(talk) 01:16, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
Vandalism
[change source]Why did you put a vandalism message on my talk page? ionas talk contribs 01:49, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
Because of the changes you made on "15:22, 8 August 2007 Ionas68224 (Talk | changes) (1,151 bytes) (opposite of anarchy is not l&o -- law and order is chaos)". Although disagreeing with another editor's politics is not a reason to declare an edit vandalism, what you did was completely change the meaning. It may have been meant as a joke but it was inappropriate humour. ---barliner--talk--contribs- 08:24, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- The article was POV - I did the humour to make a point. ionas talk contribs 23:36, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- If an article is POV make it neutral. Changing its meaning is a) vandalism and b) confusing to those for whom english is not a first language or who cannot understand complex english wikipedia for any reason and that is against the spirit and purpose of this community. ---barliner--talk--contribs- 10:23, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
