Restraint

Restraint may refer to:

  • restraint device - an apparatus such as handcuffs, leg irons, a leash or makeshift restraints such as rope or duct tape used to bind someone's hands or feet together or to restrict a domestic animal's motion.
  • safety restraint - a device such as a seat belt or harness used to stop someone from falling out of a moving vehicle, through a windshield or falling from a great height
  • self restraint - the ability to resist temptation or to refrain from something
