Kitab al-Kafi (Book of the Sufficent) is hadith collection for followers of Twelverism. The book was compiled in the first half of the 10th century by Muhammad ibn Ya'qub al-Kulayni.[1]

The book is divided into three different sections: Usul al-Kafi, which talks about knowledge, religion, history, ethical practices, and the Qur'an; Furu al-Kafi which talks about legal and practical rulings; and Rawdah al-Kafi which talks about other traditions in Twelverism.[2] In total, Kitab al-Kafi contains 16,199 narrations.[3]
