Metafiction

Metafiction is a genre of fiction that is about fiction and the fact that it is fictional. Basically, if a story goes out of its way to remind the people who are reading, watching or listening to it that it is fiction or to emphasize all the reasons that it couldn’t happen in reality. Metafictional characters are fictional characters who know that they are fictional characters.
