Cure for common cold[change source]

- I am welcome to suggestions: What is easy to undserstand, and omre or less accurate. Those are the things that make Simple English Wikipedia interwsting...

- OK well you don't seem to be doing so good right now so I'll leave you. But its a shame because also
- Antibiotics have no effect against viral infections and thus have no effect against the common cold. Antibiotics are often prescribed even though antibiotic side effects cause overall harm. Antibiotics are commonly prescribed because people expect doctors to prescribe them, and doctors want to help people. Prescribing antibiotics also happens because it is difficult to exclude causes of infection that may be managed by antibiotics. There are no effective antiviral drugs for the common cold, even though some preliminary research has shown benefit.
- And
- More than one-third of people who saw a doctor received an antibiotic prescription. The use of antibiotic prescriptions has implications for antibiotic resistance.

You said: "In the end, this will likely be an overview article, linking to more specific articles."--Possibly, that is true.--Most (or all) of the stuff, mentioned about Kaplan, might have to go to a stub about History of artificial intelligence, etc.--Feel free to move this to the AI discussion. Not sure when next year, that i will be checking that article - the entertainment value of it, sky-rocketed yesterday.--About building an encyclopedia - your talk page on the other hand, is not perceived as a near-waste-of-time.
