2009 World Series

The 2009 World Series was the MLB World Series of 2009 in the game of baseball. The New York Yankees won the series 4 games to 2, beating the Philadelphia Phillies. Hideki Matsui was the first ever Japanese born MVP.

This is the Yankees' 27th World Series championship, the most in Major League Baseball. However, this is also the Yankees' last championship and World Series appearance to date.
