From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tammisha (also spelled Tamisha or Tammishe; Persian: تمیشه, romanized: Tamīšeh) was a mediaeval city in Tabaristan. It is in the north of Iran, at the foot of the Alborz mountain. It was a very important place, and kings often lived there.[1] The city was near Gurgan. It had a famous wall called the Tammisha Wall, which was built during the Sasanian era. It went from the Gorgan Bay and was 11 kilometres (6.8 miles) long.[2]
