Causes of death

Please be careful when stating someone's cause of death, and when assigning categories for cause of death. For example, K. T. Oslin was diagnosed with COVID-19, but the source for that doesn't say that's what she died of. Just because she had Parkinson's and COVID, that doesn't mean either of those was her cause of death. You may notice that the enwiki article says she died a week after being diagnosed, but that's not the same as saying that was what she died of. --Auntof6 (talk) 12:17, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Auntof6: Gotcha but to be fair when the article was created even English Wiki and their Deaths in 2020 listed COVID as a cause of death. Must've been listed prematurely by the sources they used. I was not aware that the COD was updated had I known I would've fixed it. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 12:28, 5 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I am impressed by your work on Deaths in 2021. I was wondering if you could add all association football deaths to 2021 in association football under Deaths? If you don't want to, I understand. Have a good day, ShadowBallX (talk) 00:46, 12 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello TDKR Chicago 101. I have promoted Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to Good Article. While there still may be some issues, I think that in general, the quality of a GA is there. Cross-wiki machine translations

Hi TKDR. Concerns have been raised among the Global Sysops team about your contributions to many small projects over at least 8 years involving the creation of short, sub-par machine translations on projects where you do not know the language. This has already resulted in your block on multiple small projects, and it may necessitate global action if you do not cease this activity immediately. Do not continue contributing to projects where you do not know the language. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. Vermont (talk) 15:23, 29 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good day! Can you participate in the discussion about Neptune? I remember that you left a comment in VGA but maybe you'll leave a comment in promotion to GA? So appreciate it. Thanking you in advance. Frontfrog (talk) 20:09, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Frontfrog: Of course! I left some comments on the nomination threat. Could I ask for the same favor for some feedback for Jimmy Carter's VGA nomination and Jacinda Ardern's GA nomination? Thank you! --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 20:19, 11 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

2021 Page

Hi TKDR! I have a question for you since you maintain all of the death lists. Why is 2021 in association football listed as a related page to a list of deaths? It is the only page listed there even though the deaths have a wide variety of backgrounds. I guess the same can go for the Nobel Prizes section, as I do not see a reason that section should be there, as the individual will usually say they are a nobel prize winner and the link is provided for the death or prize. Thanks! PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 17:13, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@PotsdamLamb: Hey PL! I didn't add that to related pages to my knowledge but I know that User: ShadowBallX has been, or was, a contributor to 2021 in association football page. I'm guessing he found since both pages related to the year 2021 it would be a "related page". I see his train of thought since there aren't as many separate pages on 2021 here, so why not smack that in a related page section in 2021. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 17:16, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Well we have have a lot of pages about 2021 though. So maybe lets start a discussion on the talk page and let's find out. I will start it in a moment or three. PDLTalk to me!OMG, What have I done? (Pronouns: He, him, his) 17:18, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@PotsdamLamb: Sure! --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 17:19, 2 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Satisfaction vs. contentment

I noticed that you created the page Contentment and redirected Satisfaction there. That is fine, but you also moved Category:Basic English 1500 Words across to the new page, and you can't do that. The word contentment is not one of the BE 1500 words, but satisfaction is. I have fixed this. Please take care if you do anything similar in the future.

Another issue is that when you put Contentment into Category:Basic English 1500 Words, you removed the other category that was there. Any page in Category:Basic English 1500 Words should also be in one or more other categories. --Auntof6 (talk) 18:29, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Auntof6: My mistake. When I created Contentment I realized the information existed here under satisfaction so I redirected the article. I assumed the categories would fall under contentment seeing how satisfaction and contentment were similar. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 03:26, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Auntof6: The actual fix here is probably actually to move the page to Satisfaction if that is the BE word as that is what we should be using since it is the simplier word. If neither of you object in the next day or so I will probably do that. -Djsasso (talk) 11:25, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • That serves me right for not looking closely enough. I hadn't realized the other page existed already, I thought it was just a new redirect. Then yeah I would probably go back to using the other by merging the edit histories with your new content. -Djsasso (talk) 14:18, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and Hi TDKR Chicago 101! I have a question, may I just make a slight change to, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis - simple English, may I just change the photo and image caption to the one on the regular English page? Alice Tittle (talk) 23:22, 30 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • @Alice Tittle: Hello! Of course it's simple english wiki and any user can make edits (hopefully useful edits). I added that pic on her infobox when I was fixing up her article so that it looks different from enWiki but if everyone feels that the pic used from english wiki is better and more suitable then sure! Since its a very good article now, we would also have to update her VGA selected article too. --TDKR Chicago 101 (talk) 09:23, 31 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]
