Chitarra Italiana (Italian: [kiˈtarra itaˈljaːna]; 'Italian guitar') is a lute-shaped instrument with four or five single (sometimes double) strings, with a sound that is like a guitar. It was much used in Italy during the Renaissance era. The word chitarra means "guitar" in Italian.
