Donetsk Oblast (Ukrainian: Донецька область) is an oblast (province) of eastern Ukraine. The administrative centre is Donetsk. The population of Donetsk Oblast was 4,100,280 in January 1st, 2021.[1]

The Donetsk Front is a front line. It is part of the Southern Front. Some of the settlements near the front (or on the front), are

  • Vuhledar, not controlled by one side (as of [2024's first quarter or] 2023's fourth quarter)[2]
  • Pavlivka, on the side controlled by Russia (as of [2024's first quarter or] 2022's fourth quarter)[3]
  • Staromaiorske, on the side controlled by Ukraine (as of [2024's first quarter or] 2023's third quarter)[4]

Before 1961 it has name of Stalino oblast. After fighting in the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Russia Annexed Donetsk and other places.
