Ewald Weibel
Ewald R. Weibel HonFRMS (5 March 1929 – 19 February 2019) was a Swiss biologist. He was director of the Institute of Anatomy at the University of Bern. He was known for his works with the Weibel-Palade bodies, which are named after him and his Romanian American colleague George Emil Palade.[1]
Weibel was awarded the Marcel Benoist Prize in 1974.[2] In 1981, Weibel became a foreign member of the United States National Academy of Sciences.[3] In 2000, Weibel was elected as a foreign honorary member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.[4]
