Jun-ichi Nishizawa (西澤 潤一, Nishizawa Jun'ichi, September 12, 1926 – October 21, 2018) was a Japanese engineer and inventor. He was known for his electronic inventions beginning in the 1950s, including the PIN diode, static induction transistor, and static induction thyristor. He was a professor at Sophia University. Many called him the "Father of Japanese Microelectronics".
Nishizawa died on October 21, 2018 in Sendai, Japan at the age of 92.[1]
