One user is repeatedly adding one specific text (that consists of unclear and wrong English)[change source]

"Trump was thought to be the first sitting former president to be arrested until he succeeded Ulysses S. Grant arrest in 1872, 151 years later".--That English is unclear and wrong, and therefore the idea one is trying to show, is still unclear. 2001:2020:331:95B2:5C21:B760:8E8F:AC45 (talk) 15:31, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I took out some of the words. Apparently Grant was arrested but not indicted, which is why en.wikipedia says Trump is the first president to be indicted. However, I'm not sure if that difference is particularly important so it's probably best to mention Grant. Lights and freedom (talk) 03:28, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox - remove charges (from infobox)[change source]

"Falsifying business records and making hush money payments to Stormy Daniels".--English-wiki does not have the charges in the infobox.--Anyone, please remove the charges from the infobox (especially if you think that what the infobox says - is not a good enough version.) 2001:2020:30D:C7C9:CDF7:1F14:86D3:5BF1 (talk) 19:56, 6 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is Trump facing criminal charges - and some other kind of charge?[change source]

"to face criminal and felony charges".--Please anyone, make the text better: Maybe you can say something like: "to face felony charges (which are a kind of criminal charge)". 2001:2020:319:DCB5:E509:A399:B98:9E48 (talk) 12:16, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The crime[change source]

These sentences are misleading:

It is alleged that he paid hush money to pornographic movie actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 United States presidential election. (Hush money is a bribe to maintain secrecy - to prevent bad publicity or to prevent the discovery of a crime.) The "Hush" money was actually apart of an agreement that was meant to be secret, and the money was to make sure that it was agreed upon, not bribing.

It's not good to say that what he did was a bribe, and then in the next sentence say it wasn't a bribe. This doesn't actually seem to have been illegal, so we shouldn't call it a bribe, which has connotations of crime.

Also, this isn't the reason for the trial. The alleged crimes involve covering up what he was using this money for, and using campaign funds for this purpose. Kk.urban (talk) 21:29, 18 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I might be wrong about the use of campaign funds. However, he is charged with a felony: fraud by lying about what this money was used for, in order to conceal a crime. The alleged crime is something related to campaign funds. It's all related to the hush money but the hush money doesn't seem to be illegal in itself.
