Chemicalinterest has helped out before with someone that got indefinitely blocked at English Wikipedia. He spends more time here at Simple instead of English Wikipedia, because at Simple people don't get annoyed so much. I don't understand why you didn't edit earlier, despite the repeated requests on your talk page that you cease social networking and edit articles. I anticipate that if you can show yourself to be a constructive, responsible editor here, there is a slight chance you can be unblocked on English Wikipedia. Your question about the block

I feel that it wasn't handled as well as it could have been. And I will probably say so over there, once I get round to it.

But, Wikipedia is a community. If that community feels that they don't want editors who mostly only edit talk pages and send emails, then that community can make that choice.

Well, don't worry, this sort of thing happens sometimes. I'm sure you realise they are just being careful of your safety.

Technically speaking, someone not being in your contacts, doesn't stop you emailing them (if you know their address), or them emailing you. But it's better if you agree with your parents about who you should and shouldn't email.

Another good thing is to discuss what you do online with your parents - when they're not busy - so that they know what's going on. Did you remember to ask if they would agree for you to create an account on that chess website?

I don't think I will use Playcrafter much, the games aren't that great and the chat interface is pretty annoying.

It's often not a good idea to do something just because someone else asks it as a favour. Because they might not always have good reasons for asking you to do whatever it is.
