The Edmonton tornado was a powerful and devastating tornado that hit the eastern part of Edmonton, Alberta on the afternoon of July 31, 1987. It destroyed more than 300 homes. It was rated as a strong F4 to a weak F5 tornado on the Fujita scale. It cost $332.27 million in total damage. It killed 27 people and injured more than 300 people and was the second deadliest tornado in Canadian history.[1]
