English: The Peak Wilderness Sanctuary, a tropical rain forest of Sri Lanka and the third largest wildlife sanctuary of the island covers an extent of 224 square kilometers; its heart being the Sri Padaya, the Adam's Peak. It is home to a plethora of both endemic and non-endemic species of fauna and flora, and is the birthplace of many rivers and tributaries originating from the Central Highlands of the country.
The Maskeliya Reservior, an aftermath of constructing the Maussakelle Dam is one of the two man made reservoirs situated at the highest elevations of Sri Lanka. The breathtaking beauty of the Central Highlands and the astounding diversity boasted by the tropical rain forests of the country infuse to form perfect compositions of nature as this.
