Object history
Deutsch: Nach Ühlingen wurden seit 1971 sieben Gemeinden eingegliedert. Bei der Eingemeindung Birkendorfs (1. Januar 1975) nahm die Gemeinde den Doppelnamen an, führt aber das Ühlinger Wappen weiter, das am 12. Oktober 1964 mit der Flagge vom Innenministerium verliehen worden war. Man verwendete für die Wappengestaltung Bilder aus den Siegeln des 19. Jahrhunderts. Diese zeigen im Wappenschild einen Kranz (im ältesten Siegel ist es ein oben offener Siegerkranz) und über dem Schild schräggekreuzt Rutenbündel und Anker. Die Gründe dieser Motivwahl sind nicht bekannt. Ein Kranz, mit acht Rosen beheftet, war das auf Vorschlag des Generallandesarchivs 1903 von der Gemeinde angenommene und bis 1964 gültige Wappen Ühlingens.
