Object history
Deutsch: Der Bamberger Bischof Philipp von Henneberg (1475 bis 1487) verlieh dem Ort 1478 dieses Wappen mit Urkunde, die im Original noch erhalten ist. Graitz war zu dieser Zeit Sitz eines Centgerichts. Im Jahr 1719 erhielt Graitz von dem Bamberger Bischof Lothar Franz Graf von Schönborn (1694 bis 1729) das Marktrecht. Das Wappen stellt den Ort Graitz dar. Der Ortsname wurde 1894 in Marktgraitz umgeändert. Bei Hupp sind die Dächer blau. Die Weiterführung des historischen Wappens wurde 1978 genehmigt.
