Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde ist durch Vereinigung und Eingemeindung von Singen, Wilferdingen und Nöttingen entstanden, nahm den Namen des untergegangenen Dorfes Remchingen an und führt das im Jahre 1901 angenommene Wappen Wilferdingens weiter. Dieses vereinigt die Wappen der Herren von Remchingen (schräggekreuzte silberne Lilienstäbe in Rot) mit dem der Grafen von Eberstein (rote Rose in Silber) beziehungsweise der Herren von Roßwag (Rose) und erinnert somit an die mittelalterlichen Besitz- und Herrschaftsverhältnisse. Bevor die Markgrafen von Baden seit Ende des 13. Jahrhunderts allmählich in die Herrschaftsrechte eintraten, waren die Ebersteiner als direkte Inhaber der Ortsherrschaft oder als Lehensherren der Herren von Remchingen und von Roßwag in allen Orten die bestimmende Kraft. Wappen und Flagge wurden am 4. November 1976 vom Landratsamt neu verliehen.
