Object history
Deutsch: Der blaue Wellenbalken symbolisiert die Lage der Gemeinde am Lech und am Rottbach. Das Rodungsbeil weist auf die Entstehung der Siedlung in einem alten Rodungsgebiet hin und redet für den Ortsnamen, der auch auf die Rodungsarbeit der frühen Siedler hindeutet. Der Schlüssel wurde aus dem Wappen des Klosters Wessobrunn übernommen, dem die Kirche Rott von 1226 bis 1803 inkorporiert war. Die Gemeinde Rott gehörte zur Klosterhofmark Wessobrunn. Der Holzschuh, Attribut des heiligen Vigilius, verweist auf die 1783 abgebrochene Kapelle St. Vigilius (Riedhof-St.Vigil).
