Object history
Deutsch: Das Gemeindewappen entspricht dem Stammwappen der 1747 ausgestorbenen Adelsfamilie von Preu, die von 1602 bis 1703 die geschlossene Hofmark Schonstett innehatte und über die Anwesen der Gemeinde die Grund- und Niedergerichtsherrschaft ausübte. Das Preu-Wappen steht stellvertretend für die Reihe der adligen Inhaber des Dorfgerichts Schonstett im 14. Jahrhundert, dann der Hofmark und schließlich des Patrimonialgerichts bis Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts.
