Object history Die Rose im silbernen Feld ist die geminderte Fassung des Familienwappens der Herren von Törring mit drei roten Rosen in Silber. Die Törring übten von etwa 1320 bis 1630 die Marktherrschaft aus. Um 1380 erhielt Tüßling Marktrechte. Der Zeitpunkt der Wappenverleihung ist nicht bekannt, das älteste bekannte Marktsiegel mit dem Rosenwappen im Halbrundschild wird aus stilistischen Gründen um 1570 angefertigt worden sein. Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde die Rose mit Zweig - wohl in Verbindung mit der irrigen Ableitung des Ortsnamens von Distling - als Distel mit Blüte fehlgedeutet. Die Feldtingierung wurde in Anlehnung an die Farbe der Bürgermilitärfahne um 1803 in Blau abgeändert.
