Object history Das Gemeindewappen vereint Bilder aus den Wappen von fünf adeligen Familien, die über längere Zeit Inhaber der Hofmark Treffelstein waren. Die Schwarz-Gold-Schrägteilung ist vom Wappen der Rornstetter (1454 bis 1505) hergeleitet. Das fünfspeichige Rad erinnert an die Familie Berlachingen (1585 bis Mitte des 17. Jahrhunderts), das Blatt (Reis) redet für die Familie von Reisach (1759 bis Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts). Die Silber-Rot-Teilung im Schildfuß verweist auf die Familie von Sazenhofen, die auf Treffelstein von 1679 bis Anfang der 1730-er Jahre nachweisbar ist.
