Object history
Deutsch: Als die Herren von Wilhalmesdorf, auch Wilhelmsdorf genannt, 1566 ausstarben, ging deren Besitz an die hessischen Schutzbar, genannt Milchling, über. Heinrich Hermann Freiherr von Schutzbar erbat 1571 von Kaiser Maximilian II. Freiheitsrechte und ein Wappen. Es sollte über dem Familienwappen � drei im Dreipass stehende, mit den Stielen zusammen hängende Seeblätter � einen falkenähnlichen Vogel enthalten. Aus dem Jahr 1581 ist der Abdruck eines Siegels überliefert mit einem ganz anderen Bild: Im Schild steht ein großer sechsstrahliger Stern. Im 19. Jahrhundert geriet das Siegel in Vergessenheit. Bei der Gestaltung des Wappens im Jahr 1926 entschied man sich für andere Symbole. Die Abbildung wurde 1926 beglaubigt. Die Rauten sind aus dem Wappen Herren von Wilhelmsdorf entnommen. Der Großbuchstabe W weist auf den Ortsnamen, die Farben Silber und Blau sind die bayerischen Landesfarben.
