Object history
Deutsch: Die Gemeinde nahm das Wappen von Honoratus Göhl an, der von 1767 bis 1802 Abt im Reichsstift Ottobeuren war. Er hatte die Kirche von Wolfertschwenden restauriert, sein Wappen ist als Fresko am Kirchturm zu sehen. Es wurde bisweilen als Wahrzeichen des Ortes gedeutet. Das Kloster Ottobeuren war seit 1145 in Wolfertschwenden begütert. 1699 befand sich der Ort beinahe geschlossen im Besitz des Klosters, bei dem es bis zur Säkularisation 1802 blieb.
